Privacy

This notice explains what BLW Recipes collects when you read this site, and what choices you have. It is short because the site does little.

Who runs this site. BLW Recipes is published by Avo Parenting, a sole trader based in Istanbul, Türkiye, which also publishes the Avo family of parenting apps. Avo Parenting is the data controller for this website.

This notice covers this website only. If you install one of our apps, the data it collects is described in the Avo apps privacy policy. Installing an app is a separate decision with a separate policy.

No account, nothing you type

There is no sign-up, no login, and no form on this site. We do not ask for your name, your email, or anything about your baby, and there is nowhere for you to enter it. Recipes and food guides are served the same way to everyone.

Analytics, and your choice

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which recipes are useful. It runs in Google’s Consent Mode with every storage category denied by default — nothing is stored and no analytics cookie is set until you accept the banner. Advertising storage and personalisation stay denied whatever you choose: we do not run ads and do not build advertising profiles.

When you do accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to recognise repeat visits. We enable IP anonymisation, so your full IP address is not stored by Analytics. Google acts as our processor for this and may process data outside your country; see Google’s own terms for how they handle it.

If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is ever written and we receive no measurement from your visit.

What we store on your device

Two small values, both in your browser’s local storage rather than cookies, and both readable only by this site:

• blw_consent_v1 — whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we stop asking.
• blw_sticky_dismissed_v1 — set if you dismiss the app banner at the bottom of the screen, so it stays dismissed.

Clearing your browser storage removes both. Neither is sent to us or to anyone else.

Images and fonts

Recipe photographs load from Google Firebase Storage, so your browser makes a request to firebasestorage.googleapis.com and Google sees the IP address and user agent that request came from. This happens whether or not you accept analytics, because without it the photographs would not appear.

Fonts are served from this site. They are downloaded at build time and bundled, so reading a page makes no request to Google Fonts.

Links to the app stores

Our “Get the app” buttons link to the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those links carry a campaign tag identifying BLW Recipes and which button you pressed, so we can tell how many installs came from this site. The tag identifies the page, not you — it contains no identifier for you or your device. What happens after you arrive at the store is governed by Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — to deliver pages and protect against abuse. These are retained briefly and are not combined with analytics data or used to profile you.

Your rights

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Where the CCPA/CPRA applies, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information.

In practice we hold almost nothing tied to you: without an account, the only data is anonymised analytics and short-lived server logs. If you want to exercise a right or ask what we hold, email support@avoparenting.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Our legal basis for analytics is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time below. Serving the pages themselves, and the security logging that comes with it, rests on our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.

Children

This site is written for parents and carers, not for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. The site is about babies, but it is not directed at them.

Changes

If this notice changes materially we will update the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated notice applies.
