Food guide
Apricot
Fresh apricots can be introduced around 6 months when ripe and soft. They're sweet and nutritious.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Puree ripe apricots or mash well. 9-12 months: Offer soft slices or quarters as finger food. 12-24 months: Serve halves or slices.
Nutrition
Excellent source of vitamin A and vitamin C. Contains potassium, fiber, and antioxidants including beta-carotene.
A note from the editors
Choose apricots that give slightly when pressed. Unripe apricots are too firm and sour for babies.
Good to know
Remove the pit - it contains compounds that can be toxic. Ensure fruit is ripe and soft. Skin is edible but can be peeled for younger babies.
