Avocado Oil

Avocado oil can be introduced from 6 months of age as a healthy fat source. With its mild flavor and high smoke point, it's a versatile oil for cooking and drizzling over baby's foods.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Drizzle a small amount over purees, mashes, or cooked vegetables. Use in small quantities for cooking. 9-12 months: Continue drizzling over finger foods, use for sautéing vegetables, or whisk into dressings. 12+ months: Use as a cooking oil, in marinades, or as a finishing oil on meals.

Nutrition

It's rich in monounsaturated fats, which are vital for healthy brain and nervous system development in babies. Avocado oil also contains Vitamin E, an important antioxidant, and can help improve the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins from other foods.

A note from the editors

Use avocado oil when roasting or sautéing vegetables for your baby to add healthy fats and a subtle richness.

Good to know

Avocado oil is generally safe and not considered a common allergen. However, always ensure it is pure, unrefined avocado oil without any additives. Start with a small amount to observe tolerance.
