Cardamom

Cardamom can be introduced around 6 months in small amounts. This aromatic spice adds a warm, sweet-spicy flavor to dishes.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Add a tiny pinch to fruit purees, rice pudding, or porridge. 9-12 months: Use in mild desserts or sweet dishes. 12-24 months: Include in baked goods and warm beverages.

Nutrition

Contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. May aid digestion. Good source of manganese and iron.

A note from the editors

Cardamom pairs wonderfully with banana, mango, and rice dishes. A little goes a long way.
