Chicken Liver
Chicken liver can be introduced around 6 months. It's incredibly nutrient-dense and has a milder flavor than beef liver.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Puree cooked liver with vegetables. 9-12 months: Offer finely minced or as pate. 12-24 months: Include in meatballs or spreads.
Nutrition
Extremely rich in iron, vitamin A, B12, and folate. Excellent source of complete protein. Supports brain development.
A note from the editors
Chicken liver has a milder flavor than beef liver. Blend into pate with butter and herbs for better acceptance.
Good to know
Due to high vitamin A, limit to 1-2 servings per week. Choose organic when possible. Cook thoroughly - no pink inside.
