Durian

Durian can be introduced around 6 months. This Southeast Asian fruit has a strong smell but creamy, sweet flesh.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Offer soft durian flesh, mashed or in pieces. 9-12 months: Serve small pieces as finger food. 12-24 months: Include in smoothies or desserts.

Nutrition

Good source of vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Contains healthy fats and B vitamins. High in energy.

A note from the editors

Fresh durian should have a strong aroma. Frozen durian is more mild and convenient.

Good to know

The strong odor is off-putting to some. Start with small amounts. The creamy texture is easy for babies.
