Fresh figs can be introduced around 6 months when ripe and soft. Dried figs should be rehydrated.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Mash ripe fresh figs or puree rehydrated dried figs. 9-12 months: Offer quartered fresh figs. 12-24 months: Serve fresh fig halves or chopped dried figs.

Nutrition

Good source of fiber, potassium, and calcium. Contains antioxidants. Natural sweetness without added sugar.

A note from the editors

Ripe figs are very soft and may split. Use within a few days of purchase. Dried figs keep longer.
