Food guide
Goat Cheese
Goat cheese can be introduced around 9 months. It has a tangy flavor and some babies with cow's milk sensitivity tolerate it.
How to serve at this age
9-12 months: Spread soft goat cheese on toast or mix into foods. 12-24 months: Crumble into salads or include in various dishes.
Nutrition
Good source of protein and calcium. Contains vitamins A and K. Easier to digest than some cow's milk cheeses.
A note from the editors
Fresh goat cheese has a milder flavor than aged varieties. It melts well into sauces and eggs.
Good to know
Still a dairy product - watch for allergies. Choose pasteurized varieties. Soft goat cheese is easier for babies.
