Guava
Guava can be introduced around 6 months when ripe and soft. It's a tropical fruit with exceptional nutritional value.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Puree ripe guava flesh (seeds removed). 9-12 months: Offer soft pieces of ripe guava as finger food. 12-24 months: Serve slices or include in fruit salads.
Nutrition
Extremely high in vitamin C - more than oranges. Good source of fiber, vitamin A, and potassium. Contains lycopene.
A note from the editors
Guavas ripen quickly at room temperature. The entire fruit including skin is edible when ripe.
Good to know
Remove seeds for younger babies as they can be hard. Choose very ripe guavas that give slightly when pressed.
