Mandarin
Mandarins can be introduced around 6 months. They're sweet, easy to peel, and most babies enjoy their flavor.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Remove membrane and offer segments for baby to gum. 9-12 months: Serve peeled segments as finger food. 12-24 months: Offer whole segments or include in fruit salads.
Nutrition
Excellent source of vitamin C. Contains fiber, vitamin A, and potassium. Good hydration.
A note from the editors
Choose seedless varieties for convenience. Refrigerate for longer storage.
Good to know
Remove all seeds and membrane if difficult for baby. Citrus can cause diaper rash in some babies.
