Food guide
Mulberry
Mulberries are a delicious, nutrient-dense fruit that can be introduced once your baby is 6 months old. They are soft and naturally sweet, making them an excellent choice for a healthy snack.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Wash well and mash thoroughly, or offer as a soft, stewed puree. 9-12 months: Serve halved or slightly smashed so your baby can pick them up with a pincer grasp. 12+ months: Serve whole as a nutritious finger food snack.
Nutrition
These berries are packed with vitamin C to boost immunity and iron for healthy blood cells. They also contain dietary fiber which is essential for maintaining smooth digestion as your little one explores new foods.
A note from the editors
If you buy fresh mulberries, eat them quickly as they are highly perishable, or freeze them for later use in smoothies.
Good to know
Wash thoroughly before serving to remove any debris or insects from the stem area. Due to their small size, be sure to mash them slightly for younger babies to eliminate any risk of choking.
