Food guide
Pork Broth
Pork broth is a flavorful, hydrating addition to your baby's diet that can be introduced once they begin solids. It is a gentle way to introduce new savory flavors while keeping your little one well-hydrated.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Use as a liquid base to thin out purees or soften grains like quinoa or rice. 9-12 months: Serve as a small amount in a straw cup or use to moisten family-style meals. 12+ months: Serve as a base for soups with cooked vegetables and pasta.
Nutrition
While broth is not a meal replacement, it contains minerals and amino acids from the simmering process. It is a great way to add moisture to thicker purées or dry foods, helping your baby transition through different food textures.
A note from the editors
Freeze leftover broth in an ice cube tray; one cube is the perfect amount to moisten a meal on the go.
Good to know
Be mindful of sodium content; always make your own or use a 'no salt added' commercial broth. Ensure the broth is cooled to a safe temperature before serving to avoid burns.
