Snap Pea
Snap peas can be introduced around 6 months when cooked until soft. Raw snap peas are too hard and stringy.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Steam until very soft and puree or mash. 9-12 months: Offer well-cooked, halved snap peas. 12-24 months: Serve cooked snap peas whole.
Nutrition
Good source of vitamin C, vitamin K, and fiber. Contains folate and iron. Low in calories.
A note from the editors
Sugar snap peas are sweeter than snow peas. Blanch to brighten color while cooking.
Good to know
Cook until soft for babies - raw snap peas are a choking hazard. Remove strings if present.
