Spare Ribs
Spare ribs can be introduced around 6-9 months when meat is well-cooked and tender enough to shred.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Shred meat finely, avoiding any cartilage. 9-12 months: Offer shredded meat. 12-24 months: Serve shredded or in small pieces.
Nutrition
Good source of protein, iron, and zinc. Contains B vitamins. Higher in fat than some cuts.
A note from the editors
Slow cooking makes ribs tender and meat easy to shred. Skip the BBQ sauce for babies.
Good to know
Remove all bones before serving. Cook until meat is falling off the bone. Avoid sugary BBQ sauces.
