Thyme

Thyme can be introduced around 6 months. This versatile herb has a mild, earthy flavor that complements many dishes.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Add finely minced fresh thyme leaves to meat or vegetable purees. 9-12 months: Use in soups, stews, and roasted vegetables. 12-24 months: Include in various savory dishes and marinades.

Nutrition

Good source of vitamin C and vitamin A. Contains iron and manganese. Has antimicrobial properties.

A note from the editors

Strip leaves from stems by running your fingers along the stem in the opposite direction of growth.

Good to know

Remove woody stems before serving - use only leaves. Fresh thyme has a milder flavor than dried.
