Turkey Liver

Turkey liver is one of the most nutrient-dense foods available for babies, providing a powerhouse of vitamins. Its unique, rich flavor is an excellent way to introduce more complex, savory profiles to your little one.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Blend into a smooth puree or stir into mashed sweet potato. 9-12 months: Finely mince and mix into meatballs or grain-based porridges. 12+ months: Serve finely chopped and mixed with other textures to mask the strong flavor.

Nutrition

Liver is a spectacular source of iron and vitamin A, which are essential for preventing deficiency and supporting immune function. It also provides vitamin B12 for nerve health and healthy blood cell formation. Incorporating small amounts of liver significantly boosts the overall nutrient density of your baby's diet.

A note from the editors

Because of the strong, metallic taste, always mix finely chopped liver with sweeter root vegetables like carrots or squash to increase acceptance.

Good to know

Due to its very high vitamin A content, limit serving size and frequency; once a week is plenty. Ensure the liver is cooked thoroughly until no pink remains to minimize foodborne illness risks.
