Yellow squash can be introduced around 6 months. It's mild, easy to digest, and cooks to a soft texture.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Steam or roast until soft and mash or puree. 9-12 months: Offer soft pieces as finger food. 12-24 months: Include in various dishes.
Nutrition
Good source of vitamin C and potassium. Contains fiber and B vitamins. Low in calories.
A note from the editors
Choose smaller squash for better flavor and fewer seeds. Both skin and flesh are edible when cooked soft.
Good to know
Seeds are soft and edible. Cook until very tender for younger babies. Very unlikely to cause allergies.
