Bulgur
Bulgur can be introduced around 6 months. It's a nutritious whole wheat product that cooks quickly and has a soft texture.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Use fine bulgur, cook until very soft, and mix with vegetables. 9-12 months: Serve soft bulgur pilaf as finger food. 12-24 months: Include in various grain dishes and salads.
Nutrition
Excellent source of fiber and protein. Rich in B vitamins, iron, and manganese. Contains antioxidants.
A note from the editors
Fine bulgur just needs to be soaked in hot water - no cooking required. Coarser bulgur needs cooking.
Good to know
Contains wheat gluten. Different sizes available - fine bulgur is best for babies as it's softer.
