Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt is an excellent first food suitable for babies 6 months and older. Its thick, creamy texture makes it easy to offer as a snack or breakfast staple.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Served as a thin puree or mixed with fruit mash. 9-12 months: Offered on a pre-loaded spoon or thick enough to eat with fingers. 12+ months: Served in a bowl with various fruit toppings or healthy cereals.

Nutrition

Packed with protein and calcium, Greek yogurt supports bone growth and muscle development. It also contains probiotics, which are beneficial live bacteria that contribute to a healthy gut microbiome and regular bowel movements.

A note from the editors

Swirl in a little nut butter or avocado for added healthy fats and extra calorie density.

Good to know

Ensure you choose plain, full-fat Greek yogurt to support your baby's high energy and brain development needs. Avoid flavored yogurts, which often contain excessive added sugars.
