Cod
Cod can be introduced around 6 months. It's a mild white fish that's well-accepted by most babies.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Flake cooked cod and mix with vegetables. 9-12 months: Offer soft flakes as finger food. 12-24 months: Serve in larger pieces or fish cakes.
Nutrition
Excellent source of lean protein and B vitamins. Contains omega-3s, selenium, and phosphorus. Low in mercury.
A note from the editors
Cod is very mild and flaky. Bake or steam for best texture. Avoid breaded versions for babies.
Good to know
Fish is a common allergen. Check carefully for bones. Cook thoroughly to 145°F (63°C).
