Orange Fruit
Oranges can be introduced around 6 months. Remove seeds and membrane for easier eating.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months: Offer segments with membrane removed for sucking. 9-12 months: Serve segments as finger food. 12-24 months: Offer segments or whole peeled sections.
Nutrition
Excellent source of vitamin C. Contains fiber, folate, and potassium. Good hydration.
A note from the editors
Navel oranges are seedless and easy to peel. Valencia oranges are juicier. Both work well for babies.
Good to know
Remove seeds and tough membrane. Citrus can cause diaper rash in some babies. Very acidic.
