Lamb

Lamb can be introduced around 6 months. It's nutrient-dense with a distinctive flavor that many babies enjoy.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Serve pureed or finely minced lamb. 9-12 months: Offer small meatballs or shredded lamb. 12-24 months: Include in various dishes.

Nutrition

Excellent source of iron (heme iron), zinc, protein, and B12. Contains selenium and healthy fats.

A note from the editors

Ground lamb is easiest for babies. Slow-cooked lamb becomes very tender. Pair with mint for classic flavor.

Good to know

Cook thoroughly until no pink remains. Lamb has a stronger flavor than chicken - some babies need time to adjust.
