Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese can be introduced around 6-9 months. It's a mild, soft cheese that's easy for babies to eat.

How to serve at this age

6-9 months: Serve plain or mixed with fruit puree. 9-12 months: Offer as finger food or with soft fruits. 12-24 months: Include in various dishes or as snacks.

Nutrition

Excellent source of protein and calcium. Contains B vitamins and phosphorus. Some varieties have probiotics.

Rinse cottage cheese briefly to reduce sodium. Blend for smoother texture if desired.

Good to know

Dairy is a common allergen. Choose full-fat, low-sodium varieties. Small curd is easier for babies.
