  • Nut-free

Ingredients

  • 6 cherry tomatoes (halved, deseeded)
  • 40g fresh mozzarella (cubed)
  • 4 fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil

Method

  1. 01

Rinse cherry tomatoes and halve them. Remove seeds if baby is sensitive to seeds.

  2. 02

Cut fresh mozzarella into small bite-sized pieces (about 1 cm cubes).

  3. 03

Wash and pat dry a few fresh basil leaves. Tear into small pieces.

  4. 04

Arrange tomato halves and mozzarella pieces on a plate. Scatter torn basil over.

  5. 05

Drizzle with a tiny amount of olive oil if desired. Serve at room temperature — no skewers.

How to offer

Place pieces on the high chair tray. Always supervise during feeding. Cherry tomatoes must be halved or quartered — whole cherry tomatoes are a choking hazard. Mozzarella cubes are soft and melt-in-mouth, safe for 9-month-olds. No skewers or toothpicks ever.

Storage

Best served fresh. Refrigerate assembled bites up to 4 hours. Store components separately — mozzarella in brine for 3 days.
