  • Nut-free

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cucumber (peeled)
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (plain, full-fat)

Method

  1. 01

Wash cucumber thoroughly and peel. Slice into thick rounds (at least 1 cm thick).

  2. 02

Alternatively, cut cucumber into thick finger-length spears for easier grasping.

  3. 03

Spread a thin layer of full-fat cream cheese on each cucumber slice or along each spear.

  4. 04

Serve immediately. The cream cheese adds healthy fat and calcium to this refreshing snack.

  5. 05

For younger babies (6 months), cucumber spears are easier to hold than rounds.

How to offer

Place cucumber pieces on the high chair tray. Always supervise during feeding. Offer thick spears for a 6-month-old's palmar grasp. Cucumber skin should always be removed for young babies. Cream cheese softens and dissolves easily making this very safe.

Storage

Best served fresh. Refrigerate assembled pieces for up to 2 hours. Store components separately for up to 3 days.
