Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ripe mango (diced)
  • 4 tablespoons rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut (unsweetened)
  • 1 tablespoon extra coconut (for rolling)

Method

  1. 01

Peel and dice very ripe mango. If frozen mango, thaw completely and drain excess liquid.

  2. 02

Place mango, rolled oats, and desiccated coconut in a food processor. Blend until a sticky dough forms.

  3. 03

If mixture is too wet, add a tablespoon more oats. If too dry, add a tiny splash of water.

  4. 04

Roll teaspoon-sized portions into small balls using damp hands.

  5. 05

Roll finished balls in a little extra desiccated coconut to coat. Refrigerate 30 minutes before serving.

How to offer

Place 2–3 balls on the high chair tray. Always supervise during feeding. At 6 months, these no-cook balls are very soft. Test by squishing between fingers — they must compress easily. The tropical flavour is excellent for early palate development.

Storage

Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Freeze for up to 1 month.
