Ingredients

  • 2 ripe nectarines, pitted
  • 1–2 tsp water (optional)

Method

  1. 01

Wash 2 ripe nectarines, cut in half, and remove the pits. No need to peel — the skin is thin.

  2. 02

Place the nectarine halves cut-side down in a steamer basket over boiling water.

  3. 03

Steam for 7–8 minutes until completely tender when pierced.

  4. 04

Allow to cool slightly, then peel away the skins and transfer the flesh to a blender.

  5. 05

Blend until smooth, adjusting consistency with a splash of water, and cool before serving.

How to offer

Serve on a soft spoon. Nectarines are similar to peaches but have thinner skin — they produce a very smooth, naturally sweet puree.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze in ice cube trays for up to 2 months.
