Ingredients

  • 1 cup shelled edamame, fresh or frozen (about 150g)
  • 4–5 tablespoons water

Method

  1. 01

If using frozen edamame in pods, cook according to package directions. If using shelled frozen edamame, bring a pot of water to a boil.

  2. 02

Add shelled edamame to boiling water and cook for 6–8 minutes until tender.

  3. 03

Drain and rinse under cold water. If edamame is in pods, pop the beans out of the pods — use only the inner beans.

  4. 04

Transfer the beans to a blender with 4–5 tablespoons of water.

  5. 05

Blend until completely smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any tough skin pieces, ensuring a smooth texture safe for babies.
