Ingredients

  • ¼ pink grapefruit, peeled and segmented
  • 3 tbsp apple or banana puree (to balance tartness)

Method

  1. 01

Choose a ripe pink or red grapefruit (sweeter varieties) and cut it in half.

  2. 02

Use a spoon or citrus juicer to extract the segments and juice, removing all seeds and thick membrane.

  3. 03

Place the grapefruit segments in a blender and blend until smooth.

  4. 04

Mix with a generous portion of sweet apple or banana puree (ratio 1:3 grapefruit to sweet fruit) to balance the bitterness.

  5. 05

Serve in small amounts and monitor for any reaction.

How to offer

Always mix with sweeter purees — grapefruit is very tart alone. Introduce in small amounts and watch for any citrus sensitivity.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Not recommended for freezing.
