Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1-2 tablespoons water or aquafaba

Method

  1. 01

Drain and rinse 1/2 cup canned chickpeas. For a smoother texture, rub the chickpeas between your hands to remove the outer skins, then discard skins.

  2. 02

Add chickpeas to a blender with 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste), 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon olive oil.

  3. 03

Blend until very smooth, adding 1-2 tablespoons of water or reserved chickpea liquid (aquafaba) gradually to reach a soft, creamy consistency.

  4. 04

Taste and adjust — no salt needed for baby. Serve as a dip or spread. Note: This recipe is garlic-free for easier digestion.
