Food guide
Zucchini
When a baby is ready to begin solids, which is often around 6 months old, zucchini, when cooked till soft, may be offered.
How to serve at this age
6-9 months old: Prepare zucchini and serve it by itself as sticks or spears. Zucchini spears cooked either in the oven or in the steamer provide a wonderful supper for the infant and a delectable side dish for the rest of the family. 9-12 months old: When the infant learns to grasp with a pincer grasp (where the finger and thumb connect), try reducing the size to bite-sized fried zucchini pieces. 12–24 months old: Keep including cooked zucchini in your casseroles, and other recipes as well as presenting it in bite-sized pieces.
Nutrition
Beta-carotene, which is abundant in zucchini, is converted by our bodies into vitamin A, which strengthens our immune systems and maintains our vision. Contains fiber, vitamin C, and B vitamins along with antioxidants. Minerals including manganese, copper, and potassium are also found in it. Due to the water and fiber content, it may soften stools and ease constipation.
Good to know
When the zucchini is cooked to a mushy consistency, the risk of choking is reduced, thus zucchini won't be mentioned as a typical choking hazard. Although there have been cases of documented allergies to zucchini, this allergen is not prevalent.
